Privacy Policy

Overview

Tree Cost Calculator (the "app") helps tree service professionals measure trees, price removal jobs and share estimates. This policy explains what the app and this website do, and don't do, with information. In short: your data stays on your device, with an optional copy in your own iCloud Drive. The app and website are provided by Ryan Hamilton.

Where your information is stored

The app saves the following as ordinary files in a folder named "TCC" on your device, which you can open in the Files app to see exactly what is stored and how much space it uses:

• Estimates, including tree measurements and pricing
• Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses and job site addresses that you type in
• Photos you attach to estimates
• Job notes
• Your company name, contact details, license numbers, logo and default pricing
• The tax regions and rates you set up

We never receive this information. It is not sent to us or to any server we operate, and we cannot see, recover or share it.

What we don't collect

The app does not collect, track or transmit:

• Personal information about you or your customers
• Usage statistics, analytics or crash reports
• Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
• Your location
• IP addresses or activity logs

The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics code.

The app does not use any third-party service to operate. The only outside services involved are features of iOS that you choose to use yourself, such as the share sheet and iCloud or computer backups.

Customer information you enter

The names, phone numbers, email and job site addresses of your customers, and photos taken at their property, are stored only on your device. You decide what to enter and who receives your estimates. If privacy laws apply to your business, you are responsible for how you collect, use and share that information; the app simply keeps it on your device and does not send it to us.

Camera and photos

The app asks for camera access only when you choose to take a photo of a tree or job site. Photos you choose from your library are copied into the app; the app never browses your library on its own. Photos stay on your device unless you share them yourself, for example by sending a PDF estimate that includes them.

Sharing and PDF export

When you export or share an estimate, the PDF is created on your device and handed to the app you choose (Mail, Messages, Files and so on). We have no access to it. Once you share a document, the recipient's own privacy practices apply, so please review what an estimate contains before sending it.

iCloud Drive copy and backups

If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is available, the app automatically keeps a copy of its data folder in your own iCloud Drive. This lets your estimates, photos and settings come back if you delete and reinstall the app. The copy is stored by Apple in your iCloud account, under your Apple ID and subject to Apple's privacy policy; we cannot access it, and it counts toward your iCloud storage. You can turn this off in the app under Settings → Your Data.

Depending on your settings, your device may also include the app's data in an encrypted iCloud or computer backup made by Apple. Those backups are managed by you and Apple, not by us.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, web fonts or any third-party scripts. Like any website, the host that serves these pages may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) as part of delivering them. We do not have access to or use that information.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California privacy law) you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information that a company holds about you. Because we do not collect or hold personal information through the app or this website, there is nothing for us to provide or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, or you have any privacy request, contact us and we will respond.

Children's privacy

The app is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

• Delete an estimate (and its photos) by swiping it away in the estimates list, or from the menu inside the estimate.
• Deleting the app removes the data on your device but not the copy in iCloud Drive. To remove that copy, open the Files app, go to iCloud Drive, and delete the "TCC" folder (or go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage).
• Remove copies stored in device backups through your backup settings.

No guarantees and no responsibility

Tree Cost Calculator is provided "as is". All calculations, prices, volumes, tax rates and other figures in the app, its screenshots and its documentation are examples and estimates only. They can be wrong or out of date, and results can vary from real life. We do not guarantee that calculations will be accurate for any situation, that the app will be available or error-free, that exported PDFs will display correctly, or that your data will never be lost.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility or liability for the app, for any estimate, tax figure or job you use it for, or for your data. See the Terms of Use.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Because the app collects no personal information, we expect changes to be rare.
